Crystal Beach's Other Attractions

The Magic Carpet, as it was known in this postcard view, was a walkthrough fun house, and had numerous air jets, slides, funny mirros, etc.

The Magic Carpet was later renamed to Magic Palace, as shown here on the final day of operation in 1989. Another attraction that was lost, except for a few components after the auction.

This view, taken on the final day, shows there was not much done to the facade of the arcade building over the years. Another classic building which was bulldozed into history.

A view of the Merry go Round, which was held in it's own protective building. This is the carousel that was broken up and sold off in pieces in the 1980's.

The Eli Scrambler was located in front of the entrance of the Giant Coaster. The Pirate is also visible, in mid swing, in the background.

Art deco abounds in this shot of the midway with the 14 seat ferris wheel at the focal point. Obviously taken during a peak in visitors, as the midway is packed with happy guests.

The Huss Pirate at Crystal Beach was added for the 1980 season. After the park closed, it was sold at the auction and went to the US

One of the other different attractions was the Scenic Canal boat ride. Gas powered boats ran around a set out course. This was later replaced by a boat ride where you drove the boats around a regular tank.

One of the many food outlets at Crystal Beach was the famous sugar waffles. Many people over the years have tried to duplicate them, but the sugur waffles, using the original recipe are made by the Crystal Beach Candy Company . They also have the original recipe for Halls Suckers.

In the final years, the Flying Bobs ride was added to the park, between the train ride and the skyride.

At the end, the classic Crystal Ballroom was reborn, and used for different shows and concerts. This was the final sign used for the Ballroom.

Sawmill River was the name of the log ride at Crystal Beach. This view shows a boat having just come off the final drop heading towards the station area. The Train Ride ran underneath the final drop.
